We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to support the day-to-day running of our children’s home. You will play a key leadership role on shift, supporting staff, ensuring high standards of care, and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.

Salary: £13.50 – £15.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and support the smooth running of the home
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care in line with care plans
- Support, guide, and mentor Residential Support Workers
- Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Promote emotional well-being, independence, and development
- Ensure accurate recording of daily logs, incidents, and reports
- Liaise with external professionals, families, and stakeholders
- Support care planning, risk assessments, and placement plans
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are consistently maintained
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience working in a children’s residential setting
- Experience supporting or leading shifts (informal or formal leadership)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Basic IT skills for record keeping
- Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Desirable
- Experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader
- Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and children’s home standards
- Full UK driving licence
