Your primary goal will be to identify residents’ specific problems, prescribe appropriate nursing interventions using modern care models, and regularly evaluate care outcomes to ensure an optimum standard of living. You will also act as a clinical leader, contributing to the induction and ongoing training of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, and ancillary staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Excellence: Prescribe, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans using recognized models of nursing (e.g., Roper-Logan-Tierney).
- Professional Standards: Adhere strictly to the N.M.C. Code of Professional Conduct and advisory documents, maintaining peak professionalism at all times.
- Advocacy & Atmosphere: Maintain a warm, “home-like” environment where the resident is central to all decision-making, ensuring their right to individuality, privacy, dignity, independence, and choice is fiercely protected.
- Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Develop exceptional communication channels with management, relatives, clergy, and visiting healthcare professionals (GPs, Physiotherapists, Chiropodists, Speech Therapists, and Care Managers).
- Resource & Incident Management: Efficiently utilize home resources and provide detailed written reports on any untoward incidents or complaints when requested.
- Regulatory Compliance: Participate openly in announced and unannounced inspection visits from the Care Management Team, Registration and Inspection Unit, Environmental Health, Fire Authority, and Mental Health Commission.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse and have UK Nursing Home experience
- Active knowledge of N.M.C. guidelines and clinical nursing developments.
- Strong leadership capability to demonstrate clinical procedures and supervise diverse care and ancillary teams.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and legislation (including COSHH, R.I.D.D.O.R., and HACCP).
- High level of clinical flexibility and a compassionate, resident-centered approach to caregiving.Note: Continuous professional development is highly supported, including mandatory yearly updates for Manual Handling, First Aid, and Fire Lectures/Drills.
What to Expect: A Comprehensive 5-Day Induction
To support your integration into the facility, you will undergo a structured, 5-day onboarding and twinning program:
- Day 1: Introduction to the company history, management structures, general health and safety policies, and a geographical layout of the facility.
- Day 2: Deep dive into specific nursing processes, care assessment frameworks, caseload introductions, and meeting the multidisciplinary team.
- Day 3: Intensive Health & Safety orientation covering accident reporting, COSHH, MRSA/infection control, risk assessments, HACCP, and practical back anatomy/manual handling sessions.
- Day 4: Comprehensive review of Nursing Home legislation, healthcare procurement, and the specific roles of regulatory agencies (HSE, Fire Authority, Mental Health Commission).
- Day 5: Understanding the operational roles of auxiliary disciplines, including catering management (Environmental Health requirements), housekeeping, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
