pc healthcare ltd is seeking an experienced and organised Pharmacy/Dispensary Manager to lead the daily operation of its busy dispensary.
The successful candidate will support the Responsible Pharmacist, supervise the dispensary team and ensure prescriptions are processed safely, accurately and efficiently. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, excellent organisation and good knowledge of community pharmacy operations.

Key responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the dispensary.
- Organise staff workload and maintain an efficient prescription workflow.
- Support and supervise dispensers, counter assistants and trainee staff.
- Process NHS and private prescriptions accurately using RxWeb.
- Ensure prescriptions are assembled and prepared for the pharmacist’s final clinical and accuracy checks.
- Manage repeat prescriptions, nominations, owing items and patient queries.
- Communicate effectively with patients, GP surgeries, care homes and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders and manage shortages, returns and date checking.
- Ensure prescriptions are endorsed, claimed and filed correctly.
- Support the delivery of NHS and private pharmacy services.
- Maintain accurate records and follow all pharmacy SOPs.
- Assist with staff rotas, training, performance and daily task allocation.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, cleanliness, patient care and regulatory compliance.
- Support the pharmacist and pharmacy owners with improving efficiency, service delivery and business performance.
Essential requirements
- NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a UK community pharmacy.
- Strong and recent experience using RxWeb.
- Experience managing or supervising a dispensary team.
- Good knowledge of NHS prescription procedures and community pharmacy operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise work and perform effectively in a busy environment.
- Reliable, professional and committed to providing excellent patient care.
Desirable requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Technician qualification.
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification.
- Experience delivering or supporting NHS pharmacy services.
- Experience with staff training, stock management and pharmacy performance targets.
