We are looking for an experienced Bakery Manager / General Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running and growth of our established bakery business in Liverpool.
With a team of approximately 20 employees and a busy wholesale and retail operation, you will be responsible for bakery production, team management, daily operations and helping drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day bakery, production, wholesale and retail operations.
- Lead, manage and motivate a team of approximately 20 employees.
- Oversee bakery production, ensuring quality, consistency, efficiency and on-time wholesale orders.
- Plan production according to retail, wholesale and customer demand.
- Manage staff rotas, training, performance and daily responsibilities.
- Manage stock, purchasing, suppliers and minimise waste.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, HACCP, allergens, cleanliness and health & safety.
- Monitor sales, labour costs and overall business performance.
- Identify and implement opportunities to increase sales, grow wholesale and retail business and improve profitability.
- Develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with existing wholesale customers.
- Identify opportunities to improve products, production processes and customer service.
- Deal with customers and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Work closely with the owners on business growth, new opportunities and improving overall performance.
About You
- Previous experience managing a bakery, food production business, restaurant, food manufacturing operation or similar business.
- Ideally, previous experience in bakery production and bakery management.
- Experience managing a team of 15–20+ employees.
- Strong operational and people-management skills.
- Experience with wholesale and/or retail food operations.
- Experience managing staff rotas, stock control and supplier relationships.
- Good knowledge of food safety, HACCP and allergen management.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of sales, costs, margins and profitability.
- The ability to identify opportunities to increase sales and grow a business.
- Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills.
- A hands-on, proactive approach.
- The ability to work independently, make decisions and take ownership of the operation.
- A practical and problem-solving mindset.
Qualifications & Experience
- Food Safety Level 3 — desirable.
- Previous bakery management experience — highly desirable.
- Experience in wholesale food production — desirable.
- Experience managing a team of 15–20+ employees — desirable.
