Support Worker – Outward (Full-time)

We are looking for proactive, compassionate, and motivated Support Workers to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will support young adults with a diverse range of needs, including learning disabilities, behaviour of distress, Autism, PEG fed, mobility issues therefore requiring wheelchair use, and complex support requirements.

As a Support Worker, you will play an essential part in empowering the people we support to live meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives. You will deliver personalised, high‑quality care and support, while contributing to the smooth and effective running of the service through key working, support planning, and daily engagement.

Working closely with the Deputy Manager or Team Manager, you will help ensure that our services remain person‑centred, well‑organised, and aligned with Outward’s core values: Engage, Enable, Empower.

Job Title: Support Worker

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £27,441 – £29,333/Year.

Location: London, United Kingdom

Your Responsibilities:

    • Support individuals to achieve their personal goals and agreed outcomes, as detailed in their support plans.
    • Provide direct, person‑centred support that promotes dignity, independence, choice, and inclusion.
    • Assist with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, medication support, budgeting, and accessing the community.
    • Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, social workers, and other external agencies as required.
    • Carry out key‑worker duties, including developing, reviewing, and updating support plans and risk assessments.
    • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in line with organisational policies and regulatory standards.
    • Safeguard the health, safety, and wellbeing of the people we support, following all safeguarding procedures.
    • Identify, assess, and report any risks, incidents, or safeguarding concerns appropriately.
    • Provide support in a way that respects individual needs, preferences, cultural backgrounds, and communication styles.
    • Encourage participation in social, recreational, educational, and employment activities.
    • Work as part of a team to ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery.
    • Provide emotional support and positive behaviour support when required.
    • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.
    • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
    • Work flexibly across multiple services, including evenings, weekends, waking night, and bank holidays, to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management in a care/support setting
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues within supported housing or care environments
  • Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection principles.
  • Male Support Worker required due to the needs of the PWS.
  • Staff must have access to a smartphone capable of receiving SMS messages and installing authentication apps for secure systems access
  • Right to Work in the UK. Please note: Outward will not provide visa sponsorship

Desirable Criteria

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Additional training in PBS, safeguarding.
  • Full UK Driving License
