Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Supporting patients with assisted living needs, including meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Administering medication as prescribed and maintaining accurate records
- Providing specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
- Offering companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assisting with nursing tasks under supervision where applicable
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities in a safe and timely manner
- Managing behaviour challenges with patience and effective behaviour management techniques
- Responding promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills when necessary
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients at all times
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care
- Familiarity with medication administration and basic nursing procedures
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages, including children and seniors
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for client transfers or mobility assistance
- Excellent organisational skills for managing schedules and documentation accurately
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record for client transportation purposes
- First aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided if necessary
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
