Salary: 38,682 – 46,580 £ / Year

Location: Norfolk, Norwich, United Kingdom

Main duties of the job

To rite advanced programs in SQL to create extracts and transform data into logical, structured formats for use by members of the EPR Programme for reporting and analytical purposes.

To analyse both simple and complex information requirements, design comprehensive solutions, and develop methods for their effective implementation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

To develop, create, and maintain a suite of reports as directed by the Data Warehouse Manager that support the Trust’s operational and strategic objectives.

To develop and meticulously document automated processes for loading and maintaining the data warehouse and other systems, ensuring these processes can be easily maintained and operated by other team members.

To adapt, design, and enhance information systems to meet evolving specifications, adhering to best practices and quality standards.

To ensure that all activities are performed within the defined level of competence, proactively seeking guidance from managers/supervisors when necessary, and continually updating skills and knowledge in

To uphold confidentiality at all times, ensuring that sensitive information is handled with the utmost care and discretion, in line with Trust policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree which has included data analysis/presentation, data manipulation, computing or numeric subject.

Desirable

  • Post Graduate Level qualification preferably including a computing or numerate subject.

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience and understanding of relational databases and working knowledge of SQL in a business/working environment.
  • Extensive experience in manipulation of large and complex data sets in a business/working environment.

Desirable

  • Experience of data manipulation using SQL within the NHS.
  • Experience in implementing a data warehouse.
  • Working in an EPR programme with emphasis to Data Management or Reporting

Skills

Essential

  • Able to provide and receive highly complex information, communicate intricate IM&T issues to non-IM&T staff and suppliers, and convey detailed IM&T information within peer groups.
  • Writing SQL and interpreting SQL written by others.
  • Ability to extract and consolidate data from different sources.

Desirable

  • Good understanding of SSIS. (SQL Server Integration Services)

Knowledge

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge across range of procedures underpinned by theory. Specialist knowledge and expertise acquired through degree level or equivalent qualification/experience plus additional specialist knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of relational databases.

Essential

  • The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach with the ability to respond constructively to changes and demands as required.
  • Methodical approach with attention to detail.
  • Confidentiality and discretion essential..
