The Social Care pathway provides a truly integrated, recovery focussed service to the people of South Staffordshire aged 16 and over, who are experiencing significant and disabling functional mental health difficulties.
Our social workers are core members of the multi-disciplinary mental health pathwayssupporting the recovery journey of adults with significant mental health needs.
We are supported by strong partnerships and working relationships with local service providers and voluntary agencies. We pride ourselves on providing a responsive and effective service to the communities of South Staffordshire.

Roles & Responsibilities
- We currently have an opportunity for a Level 2 social worker.
- You must have significant post qualifying experience, preferably of working in mental health services, and be registered with Social work England.
- The Social Care Pathway in South Staffordshire currently has accommodation in Stafford and Cannock.
- We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and innovative individual who possesses excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The successful candidate must be a team player with excellent communication and IT skills.
- Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust is dedicated to ongoing Social Care development, and you will have access to the Social Work learning academy in order to promote professional development. You will also receive the support of your team and your line manager who will provide regular supervision both on a formal and informal basis.
Eligibility Requirements
Qualifications & Training
Essential
- Professional Social Work qualification, DipSW, CQSW, CSS, BA, MA or Foreign qualification where certified by the Professional Social Work regulatory body
- Ensuring current registration with the Professional Social Work regulatory body at all times.
- To hold/to undertake and achieve the status of Approved Mental Health Professional and/or Best Interest Assessor as per the SWLA Career Pathway
- To undertake and achieve the status of Work Based Supervisor and Practice Educator as per the SWLA Career Pathway
- Good keyboard / IT skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email and PowerPoint
- An ongoing commitment to personal and professional development.
- A clear understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
Desirable
- Existing accreditation relating to Practice Educator/Work Based Supervisor
Experience
Essential
- Significant post-qualification experience of working with adults with needs associated to older age, physical health or mental health needs and their carers
Desirable
- Experience of social work in other user groups/settings i.e. Children and Families, Learning Disabilities, Older Adults Experience of a development role for service/ facilities
