Applications are invited for a full-time Clinical Fellow in Luminal Gastroenterology at University Hospital of Southampton (UHS). This is a fixed-term contract for 1 year with the position commencing as soon as possible. 40 hours of Monday – Friday working week with gastroenterology team, with weekend out of hours work if desired.

Roles & Responsibilities
Main duties of the job
- To provide ongoing care of a range of inpatients and outpatients with gastroenterology diseases
- To gain experience in managing inpatient luminal gastroenterology and specialist medicine
- Contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
- Opportunities to undertake projects for quality improvement, audit and research
Eligibility Requirements
Qualifications, Training & Experience
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
- Completion of core medical trainingMRCP (UK) or equivalent (at least Part 1 and Part 2 written)
- At least four years medical experience since qualification
- Minimum 1 year NHS experience
- Experience in Gastroenterology and General Medicine with exposure to other medical specialties
- ALS certificate
Desirable
- Gastroenterology/Medical registrar level experience

- Evidence and ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients and colleagues (verbal and written communication skills in English).

- Demonstrate the ability to be calm, compassionate, and able to respond efficiently to various circumstances, which may change rapidly
- Evidence of participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
- Understanding of AuditGood IT skills
- Interest in the field of Gastroenterology
