Protection Dog Trainer – GPK9 (Part-time)

GPK9 is looking for a reliable and motivated protection dog trainer to join the team on a self-employed, part-time basis. You will be working with both company dogs owned by GPK9 and dogs belonging to our training clients. Your role will involve assisting with obedience training, behaviour development, confidence building, and structured protection dog training. The role will also involve walking and handling dogs within our secure premises and occasionally on public roads as part of structured exercise and training. You will have access to our training facilities and full access to our online dog training platform, which provides guidance and education on the methods we use to train protection dogs. Full training will be provided if necessary.

Salary: £12.21 – £36.85 an hour

Location: Riverside, UK

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist with obedience training and behaviour development.
• Support structured protection training exercises.
• Walk and handle dogs safely within secure premises and on public roads.
• Maintain high welfare standards and safe handling practices.
• Communicate professionally with dog owners about training and progress.
• Follow the training systems and safety procedures used by GPK9.

Eligibility Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have experience working with dogs or dog training and be confident handling medium to large breeds.
• Applicants should be calm, patient, consistent with dogs, and have a strong interest in working dogs or protection dog training.
• Experience with protection dogs is helpful but not required as full training will be provided and access to our online training resources will be available
