We are seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to join our Hospital Discharge and Response Team (DART), supporting both post-hospital pathways and wider team functions as needed.
This job is available to external candidates as a Fixed Term Contract and would be available as a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy. About the Role:
Brighton & Hove is a vibrant and exciting place to live and work. Our DART team plays a key role in supporting people both in acute hospital settings and in the community after discharge. We work with individuals in step-down beds, in their own homes, and also help prevent hospital admissions by working closely with health colleagues in the Emergency Department.
Our team is friendly, supportive, and committed to high professional standards and ongoing development, even in a busy and high-pressure environment. The successful candidate will work across all settings and build strong relationships with key partners.
Team & Partnerships:
You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of Operations Managers, Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, and Social Care Workers. We work closely with partners including University Hospitals Sussex, Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust, and Sussex Community Foundation Trust, so effective collaborative working is essential.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong leadership skills within the social care or health system context
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure
- A good understanding of performance and financial management
- Experience working in or with hospital systems is highly desirable
- Essential: In-depth knowledge of Social Care and the Care Act/Mental Capacity Act
