The post holder will work as a part of the CRHTT across Bedfordshire, supporting the provision of crisis interventions that will be offered as an alternative to hospital admission. The post holder is primarily required to provide support and time to service users experiencing mental health crisis to help their recovery. This will include working with services users and carers in their own homes, in various community settings (including in-reach to the Crisis Caf) and supporting senior colleagues with crisis assessments in settings as detailed above or in in-patient wards.

Provide practical support

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential
- NVQ Level 3, assistant practitioner qualification, nursing associate qualification, additional training to diploma level or equivalent short courses/ training/ experience
KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- Knowledge of mental health, learning disability and autism
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
Desirable
- Understanding of the role of CRHTT and HTAS Standards (2017).
- Understanding of relevant legislation and guidance including the Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act (2005), HTAS Standards (2017) & NHS Long Term Plan (2019).
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Previous experience working with adults with mental health needs
- Receptive to and able to use supervision appropriately.
- Data collection, computer literacy, ability to record notes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to identify appropriate resources with the service user, using a collaborative style of working.
- Experience of the principles of recovery, person-centred planning, and safeguarding.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to liaise with service users and their family members/carers and allied professionals, and to support the delivery of training to allied professionals.
- Car driver/ ability to get around the locality and Trust to meet service needs and deadlines.
Desirable
- Previous experience of working in CRHTT
- Previous experience working with service users who have learning disabilities, learning difficulties, autism.
