Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards~cooking from scratch is a must.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation, and safety protocols.
- Ensure the kitchen is organised, clean, and well-maintained at all times.
- Respond to customer feedback and make adjustments to dishes as needed to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Order food/kitchen supplies.
- Be able to produce a set menu including deserts.
- Be able to make puddings/cakes from scratch.
- Willing to put maximum effort into food preparation and presentation.
- Be able to work efficiently and effectively to get customers their food in a timely manner.
Eligibility Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry, minimum 3 years previous experience.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and food safety practices.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and front-of-house staff.
- A passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must have at least 3 years previous experience.
