Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting independence and choice.
- Assist service users with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, dressing, and household tasks
- Support individuals to engage in community activities, educational programmes, and social outings..
- Encourage the development of communication, social, and life skills through structured support.
- Implement care plans and risk assessments, ensuring all support is delivered safely.
- Monitor and record changes in physical, emotional, or behavioural health and report to senior staff.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for service users
- Build positive, trusting relationships with service users, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Support individuals in managing challenging behaviour using approved techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Promote safeguarding principles and report any concerns immediately.
- Assist service users with accessing appointments, activities, and community resources.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries at all times.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Previous experience in a care or support role (preferred, but not essential – training can be provided).
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
