We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting service users with daily activities, maintaining their independence, and enhancing their quality of life.
- The candidate must be a UK resident, preferably based within Cambridgeshire, ideally in Ely or the surrounding areas.
- You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as both are essential for this role.
- Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates who are already in the UK and wish to switch.

Salary: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
Location: Cambridge, East of England, England.
Main responsibilities
- Assist service users with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals with mobility and physical activities to promote independence.
- Communicate effectively with service users to understand their needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate records of observation notes, care plans and service user progress.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Drive service users to appointments or social activities as required.
- Engage service users in meaningful conversations and activities to enhance their emotional well-being.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while providing care.
- Support the Service User to meet their household responsibilities.
- Take part in regular supervision and attend team meetings and training as required.
- Safely manage and record medication as per procedures.
Person Specifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Demonstration of empathy and compassion when supporting others.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining digital records and communication.
- Awareness of person-centred care principles and how to apply them in practice.
- Emotional intelligence to respond appropriately to service users’ feelings and needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including alternate weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
- Ability to support individuals that may challenge, calmly and effectively, including implementing clear boundaries when required.
- Cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity in all aspects of care.
This role is subject to Enhanced DBS check with satisfactory clearance (required before start date).
