Eligibility :
- Outstanding customer service skills: We pride ourselves on our friendly, knowledgeable advice.
- A wide-ranging appreciation for books: You’ll need to demonstrate your passion for current publishing trends, reviews, and upcoming titles across various genres.
- Previous retail experience: Experience in a bookshop is a big plus but not essential.
- Personal transport: Our rural setting means reliable personal transport is essential – public transport won’t quite cut it!
- A creative and cooperative spirit: You’ll play a key role in maintaining our welcoming, book-loving atmosphere.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintaining our reputation for dependable advice and friendly service.
- Assisting and advising customers on book selections.
- Operating equipment such as the cash register, telephone, and computer.
- Handling and unpacking book deliveries and keeping sections well-organized.
- Creating imaginative and delightful book displays.
- Supporting our events – some of which may take place during evenings.
- Advising on our book stock, including antiquarian collections.
- Assisting with online listings, packaging, and shipping of books.
- Contributing to social media content and maintaining our website.
