Main duties of the job
Assist the Associate Director of Estates in the development of the Trust asset register as built data manual and operating maintenance manuals.
Assist in the development of design with clinical adjacencies and inter departmental relationships for operational estates projects.
Assist in ensuring compliance with Statutes and Codes of Practice insofar as they apply to the Trust and the design process with particular regard to the Health & Safety At Work Act
1974, Building Regulations, Health Technical Memoranda, Health Building Notes, Capital
Investment Manual, and other relevant guidelines.
To assist in providing plan and elevation drawings including relevant schedules for building project managers and building surveyors in the estates department.

Essential criteria
- Post graduate qualification or equivalent experience in a project environment.
- A good knowledge of construction, especially the development, adaptation and refurbishment of buildings.
- At least 2-years experience working in architecture and/or technician (AutoCAD) role, preferably within a Healthcare environment. Post holder should have experience of Preparing detailed working drawings Preparing specifications Preparing tender documentation Management of construction projects Consultation and liaison with diverse user groups Note: sandwich placement to aiming to have this experience following placement.
- A good knowledge of construction, especially the development, adaptation and refurbishment of buildings.
- Ability to identify and prioritise own workload in order to meet the requirements of the department. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to work on own initiative within a busy office environment. Methodical approach to tasks set along with a willingness to advance oneself.
Desirable criteria
- Up-to-date knowledge of modern healthcare design and procurement guidance.
- A working knowledge of:- Word processing Spreadsheets Data base systems Email systems Design Software.
