Caring for older people in the Borders is extremely important to Eildon. Our Support Workers play an important role in the team at Eildon’s Extra Care Housing (ECH) service for older people at Poynder Apartments, Kelso.
Job Title: Support Worker (Extra Care Housing)
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: £13.00 per hour – Additional 10% allowance for hours worked between 11pm and 7.00am
Location: Poynder Place, Kelso, UK
Roles & Responsibilities:
- You will assist in the provision of the Extra Care Housing Service, by ensuring tenants are provided with the means to maintain independent tenancies in a warm, friendly, and safe environment, directly supporting tenants in their homes by providing individual advice, practical housing support assistance, direct personal and emotional care.
Eligibility Requirements:
- To ensure that tenants are provided with the means to maintain independent tenancies in a friendly and safe environment, with a vibrant social hub, you should have experience of supporting older people living within their own home, ideally in a supported housing environment.
- You should ideally have an SVQ3 in Health and Social Care. You will need good ICT skills and be able to use MS Office 365 as well as care, staff, and housing management software, with a positive approach to learn and use new tools as they become available.
- Most importantly you should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Eildon’s vision and values.
