We are a busy commercial vehicle repair centre specializing in [Trucks / Vans / HGV / Cars]. We pride ourselves on high standards and quick turnaround times for our fleet customers. We are looking for a highly skilled Technician to join our workshop who is capable of deep mechanical work, not just swapping parts.
The Role This is a technical role falling under SOC Code 5231. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of repair, from initial diagnostics to major engine work.

Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics: Diagnose complex engine and mechanical faults using visual checks, test drives, and diagnostic equipment.
Engine Rebuilds: Remove, dismantle, repair, and rebuild engines when required. Reassemble, test, and tune systems for optimal performance.
Electrical: Diagnose and repair electrical/electronic faults; replace components and install additional electrical equipment where relevant.
General Repair: Remove and replace defective parts (brakes, suspension, drive train) using the correct tools.
Maintenance: Carry out routine servicing (oil/air filters, general checks) to manufacturer standards.
Climate Systems: Repair and service vehicle air-conditioning, heating, and cooling systems.
Requirements
Experience: Proven experience in a commercial vehicle environment.
Engine Skills: You must be confident in stripping and rebuilding engines (this is a key requirement).
Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance (or international equivalent).
Tools: Own basic tool kit preferred (specialist tools provided).
