Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Providing specialised care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other cognitive impairments
- Supporting patients with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Assisting with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Driving clients to appointments or social outings as needed
- Responding promptly and effectively to behavioural changes or emergencies using first aid skills
- Supporting families by offering guidance and updates on client care plans
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on dignity and respect for clients’ independence
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care techniques
- Ability to handle behaviour management sensitively and effectively
- Competence in medication administration and basic first aid procedures
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Valid driving licence for transporting clients safely when required
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility needs
- Organised approach to meal preparation and daily routines
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience and resilience
