Job Description:
As our IT Project Manager, you will own the end-to-end delivery of high-value software and cybersecurity projects, including our upcoming £200,000 contract and potential £500,000 follow-up. This includes overseeing project timelines, managing budgets, mitigating risks, and handling escalations to ensure successful outcomes. You will lead recruitment efforts by shortlisting developers, writing job specifications, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new staff. Additionally, you will train the team on best practices, check deliverables for quality, hit deadlines, and maintain strong client relationships to keep them satisfied.
A key part of the role involves marketing the company to attract new business: pitching our services, networking at industry events, sourcing leads from various channels (such as online platforms, partnerships, and referrals), and securing new contracts to drive growth. You will take on significant leadership responsibilities, bearing the workload to make the company’s operations more efficient and its financial health stronger. This means taking all necessary actions to optimise processes, resolve issues proactively, and contribute to the overall sustainability and expansion of X Power Ltd. Essentially, you will be my right-hand person, running the company on my behalf when needed and keeping everything humming smoothly.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in IT project delivery, including Agile/Scrum methodologies, software development, and cybersecurity.
- Proven track record as a recruiter, trainer, and business developer with skills in bringing in new projects from diverse sources.
- Strong communicator, problem-solver, and leader capable of handling high responsibility and driving company health.
- UK residents are preferred, but we are in the final stages of obtaining our Home Office Skilled Worker sponsor licence and are happy to sponsor outstanding overseas candidates under the Skilled Worker route (occupation code 2137 – IT project and programme managers). A Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) will be issued to successful applicants as soon as the licence is granted (expected well before the April 2026 start date).
