Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Evidence of Foundation Degree Level study (Level 5) or you will be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience.
- Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths).
Desirable criteria
- Mentorship / Coaching qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent demonstrable experience of working with children with SEN+D in relevant settings, e.g. preschool, school, NHS
- Experience of working and communicating with parents/carers within a relevant setting.
- Experience of carrying out programmes under the advice of a therapist/other professional, e.g. teacher.
- Experience of working independently.
- Experience of safeguarding procedures.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of delivering training
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS and Primary Care including Clinical Governance, NICE, Essence of Care.
- Basic knowledge of how therapy can support children’s functioning.
- Knowledge of child development and the impact of SEN+D on child development/function.
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – including observation and listening.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
Desirable criteria
- The ability to adjust treatment programme according to client’s needs on own initiative
