Main duties of the job
The family worker role is an integral part of a small specialist nursing team. You will have direct contact with families, carers and friends, and you will identify their individual needs to create support pathways for families of veterans receiving support from Op Courage.
The role will include assessment, recovery planning and co-ordination for families, as well as provision of welfare support, guidance and advice. In liaison with other Op Courage colleagues, the postholder will be responsible for enhancing the veterans’ family’s sense of security, self-management, independence, and their ability to improve overall quality of life.
Op Courage covers Kent, Surrey and Sussex and deliver assessments, support and psychological therapy within our Op Courage team. This post can be based in either Sussex, Kent or Surrey but cover to all regions is required, through a mix of face-to-face and remote appointments.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse with current registration [mental health/LD/Adult], appropriate to the job role.
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
- Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007)
- Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.
- Child and Adult safe guarding procedures.
