We are very excited to be able to offer a substantive Social Worker post within the Cheltenham & North Cotswold Recovery Team. The post is part time 30 hours per week; days/ hours can be negotiated and we are seeking an experienced Social Worker. The post would be based at Leckhampton Lodge, a community base for the recovery and other community teams to enable lots of helpful information/ skills/ knowledge sharing and positive interface working.
The Recovery Team is a friendly, welcoming and dynamic team providing secondary care services to adults of working age, their families and significant others, to provide the best possible outcomes for people experiencing severe mental illness, with complex mental health needs. The aim of the team is to work in line with the principles of Recovery and Social Inclusion. This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker who has some experience of working with adults of Working Age and caring for individuals with Enduring Mental Health problems.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year per annum (pro rata).

Roles & Responsibilities
The post will include care coordinating a designated caseload, working within CPA Policy and associated countywide risk procedures, travelling independently, use of IT skills and a working knowledge of legislation regarding safeguarding vulnerable adults, the MHA and MCA.
Social Work Specific:
- Arranging the provision or purchase of services to meet the assessed needs of individuals and their carers in more complex cases, whether within Gloucestershire or at a distance and to reassess in line with Care Act requirements.
- Undertake the statutory strengths based assessments to facilitate personalised provision of care and support.
- Working in accordance with statutory and legal requirements and offering specialist knowledge and consultation to the team on the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Human Rights Act, Housing Act and a range of social care policy issues including appropriate adult and property protection.
- Social Work provision within GHC Trust is currently undergoing service development to strengthen the Social Care management and service provision whilst maintaining integration alongside the development of a new Social Care Hub.
Eligibility Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Social Work qualification registered with the appropriate professional body (Social Work England).
- Evidence of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment or Completion of preceptorship programme if less than 1 year experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable
- Evidence of formal post registration learning
LENGTH AND / OR NATURE OF EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Experience of working with Adults with enduring mental health problems. A sound evidenced based working knowledge of the management in the community of severe and enduring mental illness
- Working knowledge of Early Intervention, Primary Care, Recovery, Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment (CRHT) approach and social inclusion
- Experience of collaboration working with other agencies including the voluntary sector
Desirable
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).
